Transforming Talent Spaces for Global: Interior Design for Iconic Media Brands
As the UK and Europe’s largest radio and outdoor company, Global is the home of the nation’s most beloved radio stations. With iconic brands like Capital and Heart, Global regularly hosts some of the world’s biggest celebrities. Before stepping into interviews, the talent would relax in a lounge area that, until Trifle was brought in, lacked the contemporary style and branding that aligned with Global’s powerful media presence.
Global’s mission is to be “Home to the best media and entertainment on the planet,” but this vision wasn’t reflected in the space where their outside talent first experiences the brand. Trifle was tasked with transforming this area into an immersive, high-impact environment that would both impress and inspire.
The brief was clear: the lounge had to be a highly branded space that communicated the excitement and prestige of the UK’s top commercial radio and entertainment brand, right in the heart of London. The design needed to make the talent feel welcomed, immersed in the brand, and wowed by the experience.
With this project, Trifle brought exceptional interior design expertise to create a bespoke environment that matched Global’s reputation for excellence. The result is a dynamic and modern lounge that serves as a fitting introduction to Global’s world-class media and entertainment experience.
Developing the Concept: Crafting an Immersive Brand Experience through Interior Design
Creating talent spaces that fully embody the unique identities of Capital and Heart was a key focus of this project. Both brands, with their distinct personalities, needed to be reflected in every detail of the design to ensure that artists felt truly immersed in the atmosphere before and after their shows.
Since these spaces serve as a prelude to interviews, it was essential that the environment felt both comfortable and inspiring, allowing talent to relax while also reinforcing the prestige of the Capital and Heart brands. The goal was to ensure that the space didn’t just serve a functional purpose but also acted as an extension of the brand experience itself.
The design incorporated the bold, vibrant colour palettes of Capital and Heart to reinforce the energy and excitement of these leading radio brands. To maintain a balance and avoid overwhelming the space, these brand colours were thoughtfully applied to key elements like upholstery and accent pieces. Meanwhile, the walls were kept neutral, using soft wall panels to add texture and warmth, creating a welcoming atmosphere without feeling stark or impersonal.
While the overall colour scheme and spatial planning were consistent across both talent spaces, the distinct brand personalities of Capital and Heart were brought to life through carefully selected furniture. For Capital, the design leaned into a youthful, contemporary feel, while Heart's space embraced a more refined, mature aesthetic that focused on comfort and sophistication.
This careful balance of functional design and brand alignment ensured that both spaces were not only visually striking but also provided an unforgettable, immersive experience that spoke directly to the heart of Capital and Heart’s dynamic identities.
While there were shared elements to address practical, spatial, and comfort needs, the distinct furniture selections and styling choices ensured that each space authentically captured the unique brand personalities of Capital and Heart.
