Sensitively reimagining two Georgian terraces, Trifle* pays homage to the arts and crafts movement at the Paul Mellon Centre, a Bloomsbury-based hub for art historians.

A beautifully preserved area known for its affinity to literature and the arts (as well as its Georgian architecture), Bedford Square in Bloomsbury is home to the Paul Mellon Centre, an educational charity dedicated to the teaching and practice of art history. With the goal of bringing this hub into the 21st century, the centre tapped local interdisciplinary studio Trifle* to create a more vibrant, contemporary space for its staff and visitors alike, while preserving and celebrating the existing features of the two period terraces it occupies – from the original fireplaces to the intricate cornices and panelling.
