Trifle* talks: Collaboration

Although far from a new trend, COLLABORATION seems to be the buzzword of Clerkenwell Design Week 2016.

It's everywhere - from furniture collaborations to rug & textile and architectural and wooden floor collabs! And this makes us really happy.

In the words of Charles Leadbeater, "The more ideas are shared the more they breed and multiply"

Hakwood flooring asked architect FleaFolly to create an installation with their wood under the gate of the historic St John's Gate (see above). The wooden bike was a nice touch too!  http://www.dezeen.com/2016/05/25/hakfolly-installation-flea-folly-architects-hakwood-wooden-timber-temple-clerkenwell-design-week-2016/

Our friends at FLOOR_STORY regularly collaborate with amazing designers - the rug here is the Kites Mono from their collection with designer Kangan Arora.

Marcel Wanders has created this stunning range of luxury pieces for Poliform as part of their Mad Collection

This chair collab between Dare Studio and Kirkby design certainly caught our eye too!

Given the power of collaboration it was interesting to learn, at a talk given by Bertie Van Wyk @ Herman Miller that "50% of workers do not feel their workspace is conducive to collaboration". This along with the fact that desks are unoccupied 60% of the time makes us realise we still have work to do here at trifle HQ!

It is an exciting time to be thinking about the future of the workplace and we love that Clerkenwell Design Week has made us get away from OUR desks and out into the world with our peers & colleagues.

On the subject of the power of collaboration, for one of our recent projects at MOO PRINT LTD we had the joy of working closely with multiple parties to bring to life the company's amazing new workspace....but we will be telling you more about that soon.
